William Rundle died from wounds on 1st May, 1918, after having been sent to a base hospital on the coast but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 9th Royal Welsh Fusiliers battalion was part of 58 Brigade, 19th Division that had seen action in early 1918 during the German Spring offensive on the Somme.
